This tutorial is intended to teach you how to use WSim --monitor and --modify options that can grant access to application variables and memory.

These options are designed to help you to debug your *.elf program. The --monitor tool enables you to trace your own program global variables during an entire simulation, and the --modify one allows you to initialize a global variable of your *.elf file.

The tutorial is based on the simple leds examples on wsn430 platform.

In order to use WSim --monitor parameter, WSim must have been compiled with --enable-xdebug (that is the case by default).

This tutorial assumes that you are familiar with the basics of WSim and its associated tools. If not please first visit the WSim main tutorial.
